Criteria for membership

To become a member in the sharing pool you have to be active in the region of Västra Götaland and fall in to one of the catogories presented below here. Returkultur will check that you or your organisation qualify after you’ve created an account and can ask for annual reports, statutes or other documents that show qualifying elements. You will sign a membership agreement when you arrive for your first loan.

We recommend everyone that want to become a member to research if your insurance can cover eventual damage or loss of objects loaned from Returkultur. If you don’t have insurance, we recommend you get one before becoming members.

Following organisations and individuals qualify for a membership in Returkultur:

  • Cultural operator with active operations and documentation of at least one production the last three years and planned operations for the coming year.

  • Individuals, organisations and projects that are tax funded and that has been working for at least two year with arts and culture.

  • Non profit social organizations or health- and environmental organizations that have been working for at least two year with arts and culture.

  • Non profit educational organizations that has been working for at least two year with arts and culture.

  • Party-political non bound and non profit organisation that arrange actions, demonstrations, arrangements and meetings.

Exceptions of the requirements of documented activities can in some cases be made, for example if the organisation is new or has recently been reorganized. If this fits your organisation contact us before applying for membership.

The following organisations or individuals do not qualify for membership:

  • Political parties

  • Aktiebolag (Some exceptions exist)

  • Organisations or individuals with morepart of their activities ourside of the region of Västra Götaland.

  • Individuals under 18 years of age. (Because minors can’t enter in legally binding agreements)

You as a organisation or individual can only use available resources at Returkultur for culture that is publicly available or to produce art that is going to be made publicly available. That means that resources can not be borrowd for private arrangements like for example wedding parties or members-only parties. Exceptions can me bade for educations or the likes. We evaluate loans from case to case and withstand the right to decline a reservation if we conclude that it is in conflict with our terms and conditions.
